Aidensfield to Heartbeat fans, Hogsmeade to Harry Potter fans

Goathland is a wide, open village with sheep grazing freely on the greens and stone houses set well back from the road. It played Aidensfield in the TV series Heartbeat for eighteen years, and its railway station stood in for Hogsmeade in the first Harry Potter film.
Beyond the screen fame it is a fine walking base. Mallyan Spout waterfall is twenty minutes away on foot, and the old Whitby and Pickering railway trackbed gives an easy route to Grosmont.
