Mallyan Spout drops 21 metres down a mossy cliff into the West Beck, and the path to it starts beside the Mallyan Spout Hotel at the western end of Goathland. The last section scrambles over boulders beside the stream and can be slippery, so wear proper shoes.

Carry on along the beck to Beck Hole for a pint at the Birch Hall Inn, one of the smallest pubs in Yorkshire, then walk back to Goathland on the old railway track.
