Hole of Horcum and Levisham Moor

Start along the rim path west from the car park, then follow the broad track over Levisham Moor past Bronze Age dykes and Dundale Pond to Dundale Griff. Drop down to Levisham village if you want a pub, or bear left around Levisham Bottoms to the Hole itself and climb back out to the road along the bottom of the amphitheatre.

The moor is exposed and the paths can be boggy after rain. The walk is easily shortened by returning along the rim once you reach Dundale Pond.

• Levisham station on the NYMR is a possible start or finish
• The Saltergate car park is pay-and-display
