From Danby Lodge National Park Centre cross the Esk and take the path up through Danby village and onto the moor to the beacon. Return east along the edge of Oakley Walls, an old moor-edge track with views the length of the valley, and drop back to the river near Danby, or finish at Lealholm and take the train back to Danby.
