Danby Beacon stands at 299 metres on the moor above Danby and has been a signal station since Napoleonic times; the current beacon was raised in 2008. The view takes in the Esk Valley, the coast at Whitby and, on a clear day, the North Sea. There is a small car park by the road, so the view is available to everyone.
