Roseberry Topping circular

From the car park cross the road and follow the track through Newton Wood, then take the stone-pitched path steeply up the north-west face to the summit trig point. The last section is a scramble in places. Views stretch from Teesside to the Pennines and along the escarpment to the Cleveland Hills.

Descend south-east to the saddle by the folly, then either return through the wood or, for a longer day, continue along the Cleveland Way to the Captain Cook monument on Easby Moor and back through Great Ayton.
