Hole of Horcum
A vast natural amphitheatre in the moors, said to have been scooped out by the giant Wade.
The rim of the Hole of Horcum, then across the moor to a conical hill with standing stones.

Walk east from the car park along the old Saltergate road, then take the bridleway across Allerston High Moor towards the distinctive cone of Blakey Topping. Climb it from the north by the standing stones, then return by the forest edge and the Old Wife's Way back to the road. Big views over the Hole of Horcum and Newton Dale.
