Danby Lodge National Park Centre is the main visitor centre for the northern moors. Entry is free; parking is £3.90 up to 2 hours and £6.20 over 2 hours. Inside are interactive exhibitions on the landscape and wildlife, the Inspired by... gallery of local art and craft, and a cafe. Outside are a wildlife garden, adventure play area and short walks along the River Esk. A good wet weather option and a starting point for exploring the Esk Valley villages.
