Hawnby is a tiny estate village in the upper Rye valley, and the two hills above it, Hawnby Hill and Easterside, are short, sharp climbs with big rewards. Climb Hawnby Hill first for the ridge walk north, drop to the valley and take Easterside on the way back. The Inn at Hawnby is at the finish.

  • Two steep climbs, each about 100 metres
  • Heather in August, quiet at all times
  • Narrow lanes to reach the village
