Mount Grace Priory

The best-preserved Carthusian monastery in England, with a reconstructed monk's cell and Arts and Crafts gardens.

The Carthusians lived as hermits within a community, each monk in his own two-storey cell with a garden, and Mount Grace shows this better than anywhere. One cell has been fully reconstructed and furnished. The house built into the priory guesthouse has Arts and Crafts interiors, and the gardens have been recently restored.
