Duncombe Park
Baroque country house and parkland on the edge of Helmsley, with a National Nature Reserve of ancient trees.
Duncombe Park was built in 1713 and stands above the Rye in a landscape of terraces, temples and veteran oaks, some of the oldest trees in northern England. The house is the family home of the Feversham family and opens on limited dates; the parkland, a National Nature Reserve, has waymarked walks and links to the Cleveland Way. The estate also hosts the International Centre for Birds of Prey.
