Coxwold, Byland Abbey and the Sterne country

Leave Coxwold past Shandy Hall and follow the field path east to Byland Abbey, a mile and a half of easy walking with the abbey growing larger ahead. Return by the lane through Oldstead or over the fields to the south for a view of Coxwold's church tower. Tea rooms at both ends.
