The Bridestones
Weathered sandstone stacks on a heather ridge inside Dalby Forest.
The Bridestones are a scatter of strangely shaped rocks left when softer stone eroded from around harder Jurassic sandstone, and the biggest look like giant mushrooms. They stand on a National Trust nature reserve reached from the Staindale car park on the Dalby Forest drive, with a two-mile circuit through heather, bracken and old oak woodland.
