The Bridestones

The Bridestones are a scatter of strangely shaped rocks left when softer stone eroded from around harder Jurassic sandstone, and the biggest look like giant mushrooms. They stand on a National Trust nature reserve reached from the Bridestones car park by Staindale Lake on the Dalby Forest drive, with a 1.5-mile circuit that includes a steep, rocky climb, then heather moor and old oak woodland.
