The Heritage Centre in the old Primitive Methodist chapel recreates the village as Cook knew it as a shop boy, with a full-size street of cottages, shops and the harbour front, and tells the story of the fishing fleet and of the Staithes Group of artists who painted here in the 1890s. A good wet-weather hour.
