Old Coastguard Station, Robin Hood's Bay

The Old Coastguard Station stands right at the bottom of the village where the road meets the sea. Its rooms have explained the fossils, the tides, the smuggling and the Coast to Coast walkers who finish here, with a rock pool aquarium and a great view of the bay. The National Trust closed its cafe here in September 2026 and is reviewing the building's future, so check that the exhibition is open before making a special trip. Check tide times before walking on the beach, as the tide comes in quickly below the cliffs.
