Farndale daffodils

Farndale's wild daffodils are smaller and paler than the garden kind and have grown along the River Dove for centuries. The classic walk runs from Low Mill to Church Houses and back on a level riverside path, and the display usually peaks in late March or early April depending on the season.

The dale is a nature reserve and the National Park runs a shuttle bus from Hutton-le-Hole on busy spring weekends. Out of daffodil season Farndale is a quiet farming dale with good walking up onto Blakey Ridge.
