Boggle Hole

A smugglers' cove with a youth hostel in the old mill, a mile south of Robin Hood's Bay.

Boggle Hole is a cleft in the cliffs where Mill Beck reaches the sea, named for the boggle, a mischievous spirit said to live in the caves. The old mill is a YHA hostel with a cafe open to all, and the beach at low tide is a continuation of Robin Hood's Bay's fossil scar. Walk down the beach from the village at low water and back over the cliff.
