Whitby to Robin Hood's Bay on the Cleveland Way
The classic clifftop day: abbey to bay past Saltwick, the lighthouse and the fog signal, with a bus back.
Dramatic little bay under the abbey cliffs with a shipwreck, sea stacks and fossils.

Saltwick Bay is a mile south of Whitby along the Cleveland Way, reached by a path down through the holiday park. Black Nab stands at the southern end, the wreck of the Admiral von Tromp lies in the rocks, and the beach is a favourite of fossil hunters and photographers at sunrise. Cut off at high tide; check the times.
