Staithes to Port Mulgrave
Cliff path from a fishing village to an abandoned ironstone harbour with the best fossils on the coast.
Tiny harbour, fossil beach and the Cleveland Way clifftop path.

Walk down the steep bank from the car park into a village that has barely changed in a century. The harbour is guarded by two breakwaters and Cowbar Nab, and the beach beyond has rock pools and fossils. The Staithes Heritage Centre tells the story of Captain Cook and the Staithes Group of painters.
Head over the footbridge to Cowbar for the classic view back across the harbour.
