Ormesby Hall

Ormesby Hall is a handsome mid-18th-century house set in parkland on the northern edge of the moors, home to the Pennyman family for 400 years until it passed to the National Trust. Inside there is fine plasterwork and a Victorian laundry and kitchen; outside, a stable block, formal gardens and a large model railway run by local enthusiasts that is a favourite with children.

It makes a good half-day combined with Roseberry Topping or Captain Cook's Monument, both fifteen minutes away.

Ladgate Lane, Ormesby, Middlesbrough TS3 0SR, signposted from the A174 Parkway. Free parking.
