Kirkbymoorside is the quietest of the southern market towns, with a wide main street of Georgian houses, a market on Wednesdays, a couple of old coaching inns and a golf course on the moor above. It makes a less crowded base than Helmsley or Pickering and is closest to Hutton-le-Hole, Farndale and Rosedale.
