Before it runs passenger trains later in the month, No. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley is on show at the Grosmont engine sheds. Members of the Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive Trust give 10 to 15-minute sessions with a talk in the cab, time for photographs and questions. Built in 1937 as its designer's 100th Pacific, the locomotive set the post-war British steam speed record of 112 mph in 1959, and 2026 marks 150 years since Sir Nigel Gresley's birth.
For ages 8 and over; you need to be able to climb the steps into the cab and move around it unaided, and under-18s must be with a ticket-holding adult.
