Part of the YHA Festival of Walking. The walk leaves Whitby along the Esk, crosses Larpool Viaduct on the old railway line, turns for the coast and returns along the Cleveland Way past the lighthouse and Whitby Abbey, finishing down the 199 steps. Moderate to challenging with about 150 metres of climbing. Bring lunch. Dogs on short leads are welcome.
