Goathland was Aidensfield for eighteen years and 372 episodes. The Aidensfield Arms is the Goathland Hotel, the garage and the shop are on the village street, the station is the real one, and Whitby, Grosmont and Pickering all appeared regularly. The Scripps garage is now a small memorabilia shop.
Harry Potter
Goathland station was Hogsmeade in the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, with the Hogwarts Express steaming in beneath the footbridge. The railway's locomotives have stood in for it since.
Dracula
Bram Stoker's novel, not a film: Whitby's harbour, the 199 steps and St Mary's churchyard are all in the book. The town has been in almost every screen version since.
All Creatures Great and Small
The 2020 series uses the Dales more than the moors, but the original 1978 series filmed around Askrigg and, on the moors, at Sutton Bank, where Herriot's 'finest view in England' is quoted on the signs.
