Whitby Abbey celebrates Halloween half term with the Great Pumpkin Party: interactive storytelling, spooky games, a themed trail around the headland and a seasonal selfie spot. Come in costume and enter the daily fancy dress competition for the chance of a prize. It is included in normal admission, and English Heritage members go free. The ruins are illuminated after dark on the evenings of 23 to 31 October, which needs a separate timed ticket.
