Village agricultural show on the first Wednesday in August, with livestock, produce and a strong horticultural section.

Thornton-le-Dale's show has run since 1886 and fills the field beside the village with cattle, sheep and horse classes, a produce and flower tent, dog show, vintage machinery and trade stands, with tea rooms and the beck a short walk away.
