Lealholm is the Esk Valley at its prettiest: a stone bridge, stepping stones across the river, a wide green where the beck runs in, a tea room and the Board Inn beside the water. Crunkly Gill, a wooded gorge upstream, is a short walk from the village.

The station on the Esk Valley line is a few minutes' walk.
