Horned, furred and fearsome, the Krampus parade through the streets of Whitby on the first Saturday of December.

A modern Whitby tradition borrowed from Alpine folklore: dozens of costumed Krampus, the horned companion of St Nicholas, rampage through the old town and along the harbour with bells, chains and switches, collecting for charity. Loud, strange and much loved.
