Illuminated Whitby Abbey
The abbey ruins lit in colour for the Halloween week, with Dracula readings and a dramatically different view of the East Cliff.
English Heritage floodlights the abbey each autumn half term, opening the site after dark with the ruins lit in changing colours against the night sky. There are storytellers, Dracula readings and hot food. Book timed tickets; it sells out, particularly over Goth Weekend.
