Vanbrugh 300 at Castle Howard
A year of celebrations marking 300 years since the death of Sir John Vanbrugh, the architect of Castle Howard
Sir John Vanbrugh, playwright turned architect, designed Castle Howard and died in 1726. Throughout 2026 the house marks the anniversary with exhibitions, talks and special installations about his life and buildings. The programme runs until the end of October.
